Performance Testing

All our products are tested in our in-house test lab

Through the use of in-house environmental temperature chambers, IPC has the capability to test its innovative insulated packaging and refrigerant products under predefined thermal conditions. The testing process starts with an analysis phase, before proceeding to the execution of the test and ending with the final report.

Whether utilizing a widely used temperature profile (ISTA or other) for less than truckload shipping (LTL) or overnight shipping, or a customer-defined profile, the 20 cubic foot chamber can be programmed to match the desired environmental conditions.

A comprehensive and clearly documented report will be provided and alternative packaging solutions can be proposed for optimal thermal performance of the product pack-out.

Standards & Guidelines

Performance Testing
  • Temperature Range: -70º C to 170º C. Capable of executing ISTA 7D, ISTA 7E, and USP Controlled Room Temperature (CRT).
  • Large enough to accommodate side-by-side parcel-size test samples. Oven Size = 30″ × 30″ × 36″
  • Digital Control Unit with PC interface.
  • Data Acquisition with T-type thermocouples and Log-Tag temperature recorders.

All the tests will be followed by a comprehensive report which include:

  • Introduction – An overview of the test plan and objectives, including scope, allowable excursion, evaluation method, conditions and test setup.
  • Packing Procedures – Written and schematic instructions for packaging and the configuration tested.
  • Material Descriptions and Methods – Accurate and quantifiable specifications for all packaging components, such as gel-packs, dry ice, and insulating material.
  • Equipment Description and Calibration Data – Full documentation for all equipment used in the qualification.
  • Test Data – Raw data, tables, plots for all tests performed.
  • Recommendations and conclusions – Proposal to enhance the thermal performance.
  • References and Standards.
