About the Role

Insulated Products Corporation (IPC) is a leading manufacturer of temperature-controlled packaging solutions serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, food, and industrial markets. Our products include insulated packaging, gel packs, Cooliner® insulated pouches and bags, PopupLiner, box liners, pallet covers, cargo blankets, and other innovative cold chain packaging solutions.

IPC is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing and warehouse operations in our state-of-the-art Compton, California facility.

This supervisory role is responsible for overseeing production (including related department leadership staff), warehouse operations, and continuous improvement while ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, cost control, and on-time
customer delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Production & Operations Management

    • Lead daily manufacturing and warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive workflows.
    • Develop, manage, and supervise production schedules to maximize labor efficiency, meet customer delivery commitments, and achieve operational goals.
    • Monitor production performance, labor utilization, inventory accuracy, downtime, scrap, and key operational KPIs.
  • Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead, coach, and develop Production, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Shipping & Logistics, and Maintenance teams.
    • Establish accountability through clear expectations, coaching, performance management, and timely follow-up.
    • Address employee performance issues professionally while fostering a culture of ownership, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure products consistently meet IPC’s quality standards and customer expectations.
    • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements.
    • Oversee preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Management

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and cost savings.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational performance and profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, R&D, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to align manufacturing priorities with business objectives.
  • Reporting & Strategic Planning

    • Prepare operational reports, budgets, production metrics, and performance updates for executive leadership.
    • Support facility improvements, capital equipment planning, and other long-term operational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing leadership experience, including plant management or senior operations leadership.
  • Experience leading production, warehouse, quality, maintenance, and shipping operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, labor planning, inventory control, manufacturing KPIs, continuous improvement, and cost management.
  • Experience with manufacturing budgets, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
